Paolo Ciccone from creative cow has made a script that will export your Blender scene to a js file that After effects can import and reconstruct. I think this is great news since this will give more people options who could other wise not afford 3ds max or maya. As you may already know blender is free and open source. Look below for a link to blender.
Paolo made a video at creative cow showing how easy this is to do.
